Who it’s for

The EQ8 Migration Kit is only for owners of Electric Quilt 8 (EQ8) software. Regardless if you have the full version of EQ8 or EQ8 Upgrade, you are still eligible for the Migration Kit.

The EQ8 Migration Kit is for you if you want to use EQ8 on both a Windows and Mac computer. Here’s more information.

How it works

With the purchase of the EQ8 Migration Kit, an EQ8 download with the appropriate files for the selected operating system, or platform, will be added to your account. Click for install directions for both platforms. Since you are required to own EQ8, you will not receive a License ID or License Password with your purchase. You must use the numbers that came with your original purchase of EQ8.

Once you’ve purchased the migration kit, you will be able to use EQ8 on a PC and Mac. You can have EQ8 activated on two computers simultaneously. Activations can be easily transferred between computers. Here’s more information about activations.

FAQs

So if I purchase the migration kit, can I still use EQ8 on my Windows too? My home computer runs Windows, but my work computer is a Mac.

Yes. As always, your EQ8 license ID allows you to have two active computers at a time. The EQ8 license ID will work for either Windows or Mac. You have complete control over the activations and the current computers/platforms that you have active. If you’re not familiar with the details of the activation system, you’ll find instructions here

Will EQ8 work on my iPad?

EQ8 for Mac requires OS X. The iPad uses iOS which is an operating system for Apple’s portable devices. iOS is optimized for small touch screens and apps. Our full-featured quilt design software is not feasible on these smaller hand-held devices.

To find the specifications of your Mac, find the serial number printed on the underside of your Mac, then enter that serial number on the Apple Tech Specs page.

If you want to run EQ8 on BOTH platforms, you must purchase the EQ8 Migration Kit to get the installation files for the second platform.

Activation
